We want to instill in our young men the need to do the right things, the right way at the right time every day. That seems to be a hard concept, but we want to continue to stress the concept with them in making them understand they are at Belhaven for more than a four year experience. They are here to develop habits that will show what they are going to be in the future by how they act every day just like the quote above.

Yesterday we had our first scrimmage of the season against outside competition by playing against Meridian Junior College. It was good to finally play against someone else. We did some good things, but like any coach we have a long way to go.

This Saturday we will play our Alumni at 7:00pm. The admission is free and it should give us a good test of where we are as a team. Hopefully this can be one of many times you see our team play.

Our team this year is a mix of veterans and newcomers. We have added a lot of new faces to the roster that should give us some excitement and depth.

One player that is a veteran, but that did not play last year is Larell Bailey. Larell is a fifth year senior from Little Rock, Arkansas. Each year Larell has improved his game quite a bit and developed into more of a complete player. All summer long Larell stayed in Jackson and worked extremely hard on continuing to improve his overall basketball skills.

He has the chance to be a good leader for us and to be a big factor in helping our team be successful on the floor this season. Come out and see us play. Check our schedule on the website.
